Zhu Paces Lehigh on Day One of Lady Bison Invitational

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Playing its first round of the spring campaign, the Lehigh women's golf team shot 35 over par 323 in round one of the Lady Bison Invitational, Sunday at Bay Point Golf Club. First-year Yuki Zhu led the way, shooting two over par 74 as Lehigh sits in 10th place out of 15 teams.

Zhu started on the 15th hole Sunday and finished strong, carding three birdies, all of which came in her final six holes. She is tied for 10th place after the initial 18 holes.

Sophomore Madison Pineda is tied for 45th place after an opening round 82. First-year Evelyn Wong was one stroke behind as she shot 83 and is tied for 51st place. Senior Iris Shin shot 84 and is tied for 57th place, while classmate Hannah Foster rounded out Lehigh's five-player entry with an 87. Foster made one birdie in her round and is tied for 66th.

Host Lipscomb had the top two individuals as the Bison lead the team standings at 291, four strokes better than Florida Gulf Coast.

Lauren Thompson of Lipscomb is the individual leader at four under par 68, two strokes ahead of teammate Siarra Stout. Dayton's Sarah Frazier is the only other play under par after shooting 71.

The Lady Bison Invitational continues Monday with round two, beginning with an 8 a.m. (CT) shotgun start. Lehigh will be playing with UAB and Loyola Chicago.
