Grover Leads Mountain Hawks on Day One of Lehigh Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Meghna Grover shot two over par 74 Monday as the Lehigh women's golf team battled cool, drizzly conditions on day one of the Lehigh Invitational on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club. The Mountain Hawks shot 321 Monday and sit in 10th place in the 16-team field.

Grover carded three birdies in Monday's opening round and sits in a tie for eighth place.

Sophomore Madison Pineda and first-year Yuki Zhu both shot 81 and are tied for 44th place. Pineda recorded a birdie on the par 5 15th hole.

Senior Hannah Foster recorded one birdie in her opening round 85 and is tied for 68th place, while classmate Iris Shin opened her tournament with a 94.

Competing as an individual, sophomore Sophie Chang shot 84 and is tied for 61st place. Chang birdied the par 3 fifth hole.

Navy delivered the only sub-300 team round Monday and leads the team standings at 295. Howard University is second at 300, followed by St. John's at 303.

St. John's' Jessie Kweon and Navy's Mara Hirtle share the individual lead at one under par 71.

The Lehigh Invitational concludes with the final 18 holes on Tuesday. A shotgun start is now scheduled for 10 a.m.
