BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a dominant 2-0 weekend, three members of the Lehigh field hockey team have earned Patriot League weekly honors, as announced on Monday. Junior Sarah Bonthuis was named Offensive Player of the Week, Havas garnered Defensive Player of the Week and Kahn received Goalkeeper of the Week.
Â
As a team, the Mountain Hawks outscored their opponents by nine goals over the weekend in victories of 7-2 (at Colgate) and 4-0 (vs. Sacred Heart).
Â
The weekly award is Bonthuis' second of her career, also garnering Rookie of the Week in 2019. This time, she posted two goals and an assist in Saturday's win at Colgate. The five points were a career high. Bonthuis scored Lehigh's first and third goals (at the 3:13 and 22:17 marks), as the Mountain Hawks opened a 3-0 lead. She then assisted on Lenke Havas' goal at 31:42. For the season, Bonthuis owns team-leading seven goals and four assists for a team-leading 18 points.

Â
Standing 6-3, their best record after nine games since 1998, the Mountain Hawks hit the road for two next weekend. Lehigh plays at Holy Cross Saturday in a key Patriot League matchup before traveling to Merrimack on Sunday. Both games are set for 12 p.m. starts.

Havas' award is her second of the season, after winning Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 30. It's Havas' second-career Defensive Player of the Week honor. The defensive midfielder helped anchor a Lehigh defense that allowed just two goals all weekend and shut-out Sacred Heart Sunday. Offensively, Havas also had three goals and an assist over the two games. It began on Saturday at Colgate when she scored a second-half goal. Then on Sunday, Havas posted two goals and an assist (having a hand in three of Lehigh's four goals – all three off corners).  Defensively, the Mountain Hawks allowed just two shots (one shot on goal) all game, holding Sacred Heart shot-less for the final three quarters. For the season, Havas owns six goals and an assist for 13 points.
Â
The backstop of the defense, Kahn, picked up her sixth-career weekly award and her fifth Goalkeeper of the Week honor. She began by first making six saves (allowing just two goals) in Saturday's win at Colgate. She then had a save for a shutout on Sunday vs. Sacred Heart. For the season, Kahn owns a 1.75 GAA and 73.3 save percentage.
