BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the first time in the Patriot League era and first time in 38 years, Lehigh field hockey has an All-American. After receiving an endless number of honors, graduate student Lenke Havas was named an NFHCA third team All-American on Tuesday. Havas is one of just three student-athletes from the Patriot League named All-Americans, along with Noor Coenen of American and Audrey Sawers of Lafayette.

Havas becomes Lehigh field hockey's first All-American since (Lehigh Athletics Hall of Famer) Karyn H. Yost in 1983.

Havas' All-America honor comes after garnering first team All-Region late last month, her third-career All-Region honor. She was also named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in 2021 and first team All-League, as she finishes as a five-time All-Patriot League member (four-time first-team honoree). A defensive midfielder, Havas anchored the Mountain Hawks' D, which finished third in the Patriot League in goals against average (1.83). She was named a Patriot League Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week this past season, tying for second in the league in goals (11) and tying for third in points (27). The 11 goals are tied for fifth most in program history for a season.

Among many highlights, she had a goal and two assists in Lehigh's big 3-2 overtime win over Lafayette. Havas also tallied a hat trick in an early-season win over Longwood, and multiple goals in two other contests. Havas' 21 career assists are tied for the program record. She was recently named to the 2021 NFHCA Senior Team, becoming Lehigh's first player named since 2007.

The 2021 season will go down as Lehigh field hockey's strongest in nearly 30 years and one of the best in program history. The Mountain Hawks secured the program's first winning regular season and overall mark since 1994, while the four Patriot League victories were most since 1996 and most since the league expanded to seven teams with the addition of Boston University.
