Saturday's Lehigh-Hofstra Wrestling Match Canceled

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh's season-opening match with Hofstra has been canceled due to a positive COVID-19 test result among a member of Hofstra's Tier 1 personnel. The match will likely not be rescheduled.

Tier 1 is the highest exposure tier and consists of individuals for whom physical distancing and face coverings are not possible or effective during athletic training or competition. Examples of relevant individuals include student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, medical staff, equipment staff and officials.

The cancellation came moments before the two teams were set to open the wrestling season inside Leeman-Turner Arena.

The 17th-ranked Mountain Hawks will once again attempt a return to competition when they head to Pittsburgh next Saturday to face the 14th-ranked Panthers. Match time is currently set for 5 p.m. from Fitzgerald Field House.
