Foster leads Mountain Hawks on day one at Boston College Intercollegiate

CANTON, Mass. – The Lehigh women's golf team posted rounds of 320 and 313 to finish day one of the Boston College Intercollegiate at 633, good for 10th place in a 14-team field. Freshman Hannah Foster was the top performer for the Mountain Hawks Monday at Blue Hill Country Club, shooting 13 over par 157 (78-79) to sit in a tie for 38th place.
 
Foster birdied her first two holes in Monday morning's first round, then made three birdies in round two, including her first and last holes.
 
Junior Angela Ding carded the low round of the day for Lehigh with an afternoon 76. Ding made one birdie in each round Monday and is tied for 47th place at 159 (83-76).
 
Senior Minuette Laessig is tied for 50th place at 160, with rounds of 81 and 79. Laessig totaled three birdies Monday, including two in round two.
 
Lehigh's top player at the Bucknell Invitational, freshman Addy Douglas, is tied for 53rd place at 161. Douglas tied Foster for the low Lehigh score in round one with a 78, then shot 83 in the afternoon. Both of Douglas' birdies Monday came in round one.
 
Senior Rebecca Markunas is Lehigh's fifth scoring player. She is tied for 55th place at 162 (83-79). Markunas finished her first round of the day with a birdie on her final hole.
 
Two teams that traveled from the west coast, Seattle and Cal State Fullerton, share the 36-hole team lead at 596, with Albany in third place one stroke behind.
 
Albany's Helga Eianarsdottir and Laia Barro of St. John's share the individual lead at two over par 146. Five players are tied for third, two strokes off the pace.
 
The Boston College Intercollegiate concludes Tuesday with the final round beginning at 8 a.m. Lehigh will play with Hartford and Siena, teeing off from the 10th hole beginning at 9:03 a.m.
