BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After scoring the game-winning goal against Ball State Saturday, Olivia Perrone of Lehigh field hockey has been named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced on Monday. The goal proved to be the game-winner in the 54th minute as Lehigh defeated Ball State for the first time since 1984.

With the score tied 1-1, Perrone carried from the midfield and scored an unassisted goal at the 53:50 mark to give the Mountain Hawks a 2-1 lead (and victory). Last week's Patriot League Rookie of the Week, classmate Leah Mullery, scored the equalizer at 38:59. Mullery and Perrone have scored Lehigh's last four goals. This marks the first time since 2004 that Lehigh has seen two of its players named Patriot League Rookie of the Week.

The Mountain Hawks will return to action on Friday when they open Patriot League play by traveling to rival Lafayette to face the Leopards. Gametime is set for 7 p.m.
