Lehigh Ice Hockey did not get off to the start they envisioned as they opened ECHA conference play with a tough 10-2 loss at the hands of the Drexel Dragons. Â Lehigh got the scoring going early in what looked like a promising start when Cameron Menna tipped in a point shot from Jake Levine. Â Drexel responded with a late period surge, netting 3 goals in the final 5 minutes and taking a 3-1 lead into the first intermission. Â From that point on Drexel controlled play in all 3 zones, adding 4 goals in the second and 3 more in the third. Â Lehigh got on the board again in the final minutes as Keith Calvaruso was able to find Cameron Menna for his second of the game in what was too little, too late for the Mountain Hawks. Â Lehigh travels to New York next weekend for some non-conference play and hopes to bring some momentum out of it when league play continues.
