Lehigh Takes On Bucknell, Lafayette In Weekend Road Trip

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh continues its four-math Patriot League road stand this weekend with matches at Bucknell and Lafayette. The Mountain Hawks will face the Bison at 7 p.m. on Friday before returning to the Lehigh Valley to face Leopards in Easton at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Both matches will be streamed live for free on the Patriot League Network.
Lehigh (15-9, 6-4) enters the weekend in sole possession of fourth place in the Patriot League standings, two matches up on Colgate and Bucknell. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a 1-1 weekend last weekend as they started the second round of their league schedule. Lehigh defeated Holy Cross 3-1 last Friday before falling 3-0 at Colgate on Saturday.
Bucknell (10-12, 4-6) is tied with Colgate for fifth place in the Patriot League standings and is coming off two-straight losses. The Bison lost 3-1 at Colgate last Friday and fell 3-0 at Army last Saturday. The Bison are 2-4 since losing to Lehigh, 3-0, on October 1.
Lafayette (5-18, 2-8) is eighth in the League standings and is currently riding a three-match losing streak. The Leopards lost at Army, 3-1, last Friday followed by a 3-0 loss at Holy Cross on Saturday as the Crusaders notched their first league win of the season. Lafayette is 2-5 since losing to Lehigh, 3-1, on September 30.
Lehigh owns the best offense out of the three teams with a 13.15 kills per set average with a .218 team attack percentage. Lafayette ranks last in the league with 9.91 kills per set and a .118 attack percentage. Bucknell leads the league with 2.50 blocks per set and Lafayette ranks first in the league with 1.50 service aces per set.
Ana Spangenberg ranks fourth in the league with 3.46 kills per set this season and Megan Polak is third in the league with 8.56 assists per set. Bucknell's Sophie Bullard ranks ninth in the league with 2.96 kills per set, while teammate Mimi Richards is sixth in the league with a .308 attack percentage. Richards also paces the league's top blocking team with a league-leading 1.47 blocks per set. Lauren Bright and Emily Poole rank fourth and eighth, respectively, in blocks per set.
Lehigh is looking to pull off the season sweep over Bucknell for the fourth time in five seasons. The Mountain Hawks are also looking for their seventh season sweep over rival Lafayette in the last eight seasons.
