BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's basketball team will look to respond from two straight defeats when it returns home for just the second time this season as the Mountain Hawks host Robert Morris on Saturday at 2 p.m. The last time Lehigh was in Stabler, the team earned an impressive win over preseason Ivy League favorite Princeton. The Mountain Hawks then went on to beat the SEC's Mississippi State before falling at Arkansas State and La Salle.

The Goodman Bus Service will run on Sunday with buses leaving from the Dialogue Center on Taylor Street (between Taylor Gym and Grace Hall) at 1:15 and 1:45 p.m.

Last time out, Lehigh dropped an 89-81 final at La Salle. Trailing 42-37 at the half, the Explorers used a quick 8-0 surge in the span of 1:21 to take an 11-point, 51-40 lead. La Salle eventually extended its lead to 16 with 11:46 remaining. The Mountain Hawks were back within seven (76-69) with 4:26 remaining and pulled as close as four in the final minute, but it wasn't enough. Lehigh's offense impressed, shooting a season-high 57.1 percent from the field (32-of-56), including 50 percent from three-point range (11-of-22). Lehigh's shooting percentage was its best mark since last Feb. 8 at Lafayette when it also shot 32-of-56. The Mountain Hawks have shot 50 percent or higher in four of six games this season.

Five Mountain Hawks finished with double-figure points, led by junior Brandon Alston who scored a career-high 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-4 from three-point range. He has now scored 30 points over his last 33 minutes of action. Senior Austin Price added 15 points while junior Kahron Ross had 14, senior Tim Kempton scored 12 and sophomore Kyle Leufroy posted 11. It marked the second time in the last three games that five Lehigh players have reached double figures.  Ross finished 3-of-3 from three-point range, helping the Mountain Hawks increase their season percentage to 41.8 percent (56-of-134), 13th in the nation. Alston is shooting 63.6 percent from three-point range (7-of-11) while freshman Jordan Cohen is shooting at a 55.6 percent clip (10-of-18). As a team, Lehigh is sixth nationally in field goal percentage at 51.5 percent (56-of-134).

Despite the strong offense, Lehigh's defense continued to struggle, allowing 80 or more points for the fifth time in its first six games this year. Averaging 82.8 points coming in, La Salle features plenty of offensive firepower as Jordan Price scored a game-high 26 points while Syracuse transfer B.J. Johnson added 22 and Cleon Roberts scored 15.

With Kempton's 12 points Wednesday, he moved into a tie for 10th place in school history with 1,524 career points. He has a chance on Saturday to move into ninth place. With a strong performance, he also has an opportunity to move from 27th all the way to 21st in Patriot League history for career points. Also on Wednesday, Ross eclipsed 400 career assists while Leufroy reached the 400-point plateau.

The Mountain Hawks will be facing former assistant coach Kyle Griffin on Saturday, who is now an assistant for the Colonials. After beginning the season on the road for five of its first six games, Lehigh will play at home three times in its next five games.

Robert Morris leads the all-time series against Lehigh, 3-2, most recently beating the Mountain Hawks 69-67 last season. It marked Robert Morris' first win over Lehigh since Dec. 10, 1984. RMU won the first two meetings in 1977 and 1984 before Lehigh won in 1986 and 2012.

Robert Morris enters the weekend with a 2-6 record. After beginning the year 0-4, the Colonials won two straight, against Hampton (62-48) and at Towson (67-66), but lost last time out vs. Youngstown State, 75-74, on a three-pointer with just 18 seconds remaining. The Colonials are led offensively by Isaiah Still, who averages 15.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Kavon Stewart averages 10.8 points with a team-leading 32 assists through eight contests. Billy Giles is at 7.3 points per game while Aaron Tate averages 6.0 to go with a team-high 8.8 rebounds. As a team, Robert Morris is 30th nationally in total steals, 31st in offensive rebounds per game, 44th in turnovers forced and 63rd in free throw attempts.

The Mountain Hawks will hit the road on Tuesday to face Stony Brook. Opening tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
