Complete Patriot League Release

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A pair of Lehigh men's basketball players were recognized on Monday for their strong performances against Saint Francis (Pa.) as senior Tim Kempton was named Patriot League Player of the Week and freshman Pat Andree was named Rookie of the Week. The award marks Kempton's fourth in the first six weeks this season and seventh of his career, while Andree takes home his first-career Patriot League weekly award.

Kempton continued his stellar play, posting his third double-double in his last four games and sixth of the season as he finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds in a 100-67 win over Saint Francis (Pa.) last Monday. Kempton scored 10 of his points in the final 4:32 of the first half. The Red Flash pulled within three with just over three minutes left in the first, but Kempton was critical in the Mountain Hawks taking a nine-point halftime lead before they pulled away in the second. Those 21 points came in just 28 minutes as he was taken out for the game with 5:13 remaining and Lehigh comfortably leading.

Kempton added two assists, a block and steal. He already owns a career-high 14 blocks on the season. He currently stands 11th ninth nationally in points per game (22.8) and is 25th nationally in rebounds (10.4).

Meanwhile, Andree put forth a historical performance against the Red Flash, knocking down 10-of-12 three-pointers to finish with a game and career-high 30 points. The 10 made threes tied a school record (Joe Knight, March 4, 2005 vs. Colgate) and was within one of tying the Patriot League mark. It also tied for the most made threes by anyone in the nation this season (and came in the fewest attempts).

Andree made his first eight threes of the evening. His record-tying 10th three came with 3:36 remaining in the second half, giving Lehigh a 100-59 lead. Andree also tied a career high with eight rebounds. His 30 points were most points by a Lehigh freshman since C.J. McCollum on Feb. 13, 2010 against Army. For the season, Andree is now averaging 8.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He's now shooting 51.4 percent from three on the year (18-of-35).

Following final exams, Lehigh will play its final nonleague game on Thursday, Dec. 22 when it hosts Cabrini at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online by clicking here.
