
Polak Named Academic All-Patriot League

PATRIOT LEAGUE RELEASE
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh volleyball sophomore setter Megan Polak has been named an Academic All-Patriot League selection as announced by the league on Thursday.
Polak is joined by six other student-athletes on the Academic All-Patriot League Team as seven different institution were represented on the seven-member team. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player on her team. Freshmen are not eligible for this honor. The selection process was conducted by the League's volleyball sports information directors, who could not vote for their own student-athletes.
The Kirtland, Ohio native boasts a 3.87 GPA as a behavioral neuroscience major. She qualified for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll last season and made the Dean's List (min. 3.6 GPA) in both semesters as a freshman last year, including a 4.0 term in the 2015 fall semester. She owns the second-highest GPA on a team that has a combined average GPA of 3.44.
Polak has been a vital piece on the court for the Brown and White as the team's primary setter. She ranks third in the Patriot League with 870 assists and fourth with 8.29 assist per set. The sophomore has also been a key contributor on the serve as she ranks third in the league with 36 service aces. She assisted on 63% of the team's total kills for the season, while she posted 30+ assists in 13 matches and 40+ assists in eight matches. Polak recorded five assist-dig double-doubles with 40+ digs in each double-double and recorded a career-high 59 assists against George Washington, which was a single-match high among all players in the Patriot League this season.
Polak is now the seventh Lehigh selection to the Academic All-Patriot League Team since the inception of the honor in 2010.
