BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off an exciting 76-73 win over Mount St. Mary's, the Lehigh men's basketball team rounds out nonleague play on Tuesday when the Mountain Hawks host Stony Brook at 7 p.m. Lehigh earned a gritty victory on Saturday, led by 19 points from junior Austin Price and 11 second-half points from senior John Ross Glover. The Seawolves are the third preseason conference favorite to visit Stabler Arena during the nonleague season.

In a game full of runs, Lehigh took a 13-point first-half advantage, but the Mountaineers stormed back to tie the score. Lehigh ended the half on a 6-0 run, then the sides went back and forth over the final 20 minutes. Mount St. Mary's used a 5-0 run to break a 68-68 tie, but the Mountain Hawks responded with the game's final eight points while holding the Mountaineers off the scoreboard for the final 3:22.

Price hit the big shot, coming off a screen and knocking down his third three-pointer of the game from the top of the key to give Lehigh a 74-73 advantage with 47 seconds remaining. It marked Price's first points of the second half after scoring 16 in the first. He finished the game 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point range while adding five rebounds to tie a season high. Glover provided 11 of Lehigh's 33 second-half points, hitting 4-of-6 field goals for the game and 3-of-4 from three-point range. The 11 points and his eight rebounds both shattered his previous Lehigh career highs. Glover's collegiate career high was 16 points against USC Upstate while playing for Lipscomb.

An overall team effort saw sophomore Kahron Ross add 12 points and nine assists. Seniors Devon Carter and Justin Goldsborough each scored nine points while freshman Kyle Leufroy added seven points, four rebounds and three assists in his first-career start. In the process, Goldsborough eclipsed 500 career points (currently owning 501). All eight Mountain Hawks who saw action played between 12 and 35 minutes and everyone scored at least four points. Lehigh shot 51 percent from the field (26-of-51) and 53 percent from three-point range (10-of-19), reaching 50 percent from long distance for the first time since last Feb. 25 vs. Bucknell. Lehigh also became the first Patriot League team to defeat NEC preseason favorite Mount St. Mary's this season after the Mountaineers topped American, Loyola and Bucknell.

Stony Brook enters Tuesday's matchup with a 6-4 record, riding two straight wins. The Seawolves are 4-0 at home, but just 2-4 on the road. Stony Brook hung tough at Vanderbilt in the second game of the season, falling in overtime by a 79-72 final. The Seawolves are 2-0 against the Patriot League this season with wins over Loyola (76-63) and American (86-68). They are led by senior forward Jameel Warney, who has put up monster numbers of 19.8 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. Carson Puriefoy averages 12.6 points while Ahmad Walker comes in at 10.6 per game along with a team-leading 56 assists. Stony Brook is averaging 17.7 assists per game and is outrebounding its opponents by 9.6 per contest.

Lehigh and Stony Brook have played eight times before with the Mountain Hawks holding a 5-3 advantage. The eight meetings came in a nine-year stretch from 2002 to 2010 with the last coming on Dec. 1, 2010, a thrilling 79-76 overtime win for Lehigh. The last meeting at Lehigh was during the Mountain Hawks' 2009-10 Patriot League Championship campaign. The first game came at Stony Brook on Dec. 23, 2002, a 54-48 Lehigh victory.

After a break for the holiday, the Mountain Hawks will return to action next Wednesday, Dec. 30 when they host Army West Point in their Patriot League opener. Opening tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
