The Ice Hockey Team extends its league record to 6 and 1
Drexel scored early in the first period as goalie Andrew Carlin could not find the puck through a screen in front. Henry Brooks  answered on the power play as he buried a rebound off a shot from Stephen Flego. For the next goal, Justin Uzcategui spotted Kevin McGee from behind his own net and threw a picture-perfect pass through the middle of the neutral zone that sent McGee on a clear breakaway and McGee made good on the opportunity giving Lehigh the lead at 2-1. Soon after, Brooks found the puck in the slot with his back to the goal. He pivoted to his forehand and fired a shot that beat the Drexel goalie giving Lehigh a two goal lead at 3-1. McGee and Chris Ramondelli assisted.  As the first period drew to a close, Drexel scored a goal off the face off with a pass to the far post that found an open player who had nothing but net and scored. On the next shift and with only 1 minute to go in the period, McGee found Brooks who scored an early hat trick to make the score 4-2 heading into the locker room.
The second period started with Drexel scoring on the power play to tighten the score at 4-3. Drexel surged in the second period only to be put down by the goaltending of Carlin. Midway through the period, Carlin had some equipment problems and was removed from the game. Patrick Walgren stepped in between the pipes and was perfect in a 10 minute relief role facing 6 shots and turning them all away. With 2 minutes left in the period, Carlin entered the game after making an equipment change and was immediately challenged with a one on one situation. The Drexel player shot at what he thought was open net only to have Carlin make a tremendous glove save stealing the goal from Drexel. The period ended at 4-3.
Lehigh knew the first goal of the third period was important. Chris Ramondelli was up to the task as he found the puck far side and buried it into the Drexel net. McGee assisted to make the score 5-3. Drexel scored again to make the score 5-4.  Lehigh then took the next 4 penalties including a 5 on 3 situation that Drexel converted, to tie the score with 3 minutes to go in the game. Lehigh pressured the final minutes and almost scored but drew a penalty instead. Leigh couldn't convert in regulation play but did in the 4 on 3 of overtime to win the game. It was McGee from Ramondelli to seal the deal and send Lehigh to an 8 and 6 record and 6 and 1 mark in league play.
The two teams meet again tonight at the Class of '23 rink in Philadelphia.
