BALTIMORE - The Lehigh women's swimming and diving team won 13 of 16 events, led by three individual wins by Courtney Patterson, on its way to a 186-108 victory on Saturday at Loyola. Patterson won three events, the 1,000 yard freestyle, 500 yard freestyle and 200 yard IM, to lead the Mountain Hawks.

"It was a great effort today by both our women's and men's teams," said head coach Rob Herb. "The sprinters made their mark as they get ready for the end of the year. There were several double winners, but it was a team-first mentality that earned the win. Our team continues to be tough down the stretch and compete with their hearts."

In the first individual event of the day, Patterson finished the 1,000 yard freestyle in 10:35.93 as the top three finishers were all Mountain Hawks. She later won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:09.59 then captured the 200 yard IM in 2:11.93 as again, Patterson was followed by Lehigh teammates Alissa Leung and Kimberly Weyand in second and third place.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Ruffing was another double winner, placing first in both the 50 yard freestyle (24.42 seconds) and 100 yard freestyle (52.75 seconds). Leung, a senior, took first in both the 100 yard backstroke (59.37 seconds) and 200 yard backstroke (2:08.25) while freshman Sydney Bornstein captured the 200 yard butterfly (2:07.15) and 100 yard butterfly (58.58 seconds).

Other individual winners included freshman Julianne Koch (200 yard freestyle in 1:53.89) and junior Melissa Feeney (200 yard breaststroke in 2:26.43),

Two Mountain Hawks' relay teams captured first as well. Leung, Feeney, sophomore Kelly Carroll and Ruffing won the 200 yard medley in 1:48.54 while junior Carolyn Koch, freshman Meghan Thompson, Julianne Koch and Ruffing won the 400 yard freestyle in 3:33.36.

Lehigh will return to action next Saturday when it travels to Bucknell to face the Bison.
