Mogerley Hat Trick Not Enough to Stop Villanova

A lack of production from the MountainHawks was not an issue tonight as four Lehigh players had a multiple point game but fell short 7-6 against Villanova at Steel Ice Center. Leading the way was #23 Kevin Melone with an outstanding 5 point night (2 goals and 3 assists). #16 Chris Ramondelli made his mark on the scoresheet with an impressive 4 point night (1 goal and 3 assists). #25 Scott Mogerley was a big contributor, scoring a goal in each of the 3 periods to complete the hat trick. #12 John Hite lent a hand as well, with 3 assists on the night. The score was deadlocked at 6 late into the 3rd period, but in the end it was Villanova that capitalized after a cross checking penalty committed by #3 Chris Ellis at the14:12 mark lead way to a power play goal scored by Villanova's Matt Brizzi 16 seconds into the man advantage at the 14:28 mark. Lehigh will host Towson tomorrow night at Steel Ice Center, in their final game of the 2013-2014 regular season. Tomorrow night is also Senior Night, so come out early and join us in paying tribute to the 3 seniors on this years team (#3 Chris Ellis, #12 John Hite, and #15 Joe Lodato), as they play their final home game in a MountainHawks uniform. Senior night tribute is scheduled for 7:15pm with puck drop for the game to follow upon the completion of the tribute.
