Lehigh beats Lafayette in overtime thriller at PPL Center

An overtime goal from sophomore Chris Ramondelli sealed an overtime victory for Lehigh over their rivals from Lafayette College Saturday afternoon at the PPL Center in Allentown. Â
There was plenty of heavy hitting throughout the game, highlighted by several crunching hits delivered by Lehigh junior Ryan Staffen. Â
Lafayette fought hard, and in the 3rd period was able to chip away at Lehigh's 4-1 lead. Â They were eventually able to tie the Mountain Hawks 4-4 late in the 3rd and take the game to overtime.
It was 1:10 seconds into overtime when the puck found its way onto Ramondelli's stick and the sophomore was able to put the puck into the Lafayette net to secure the win.
The team will now get a long break for the holidays and won't be in action again on the ice until they face Drexel on Jan 16th at Steel Ice for an 8pm puck drop. Â
