Patterson paces Lehigh Saturday at Big Al Open

PRINCETON, N.J. – Freshman Courtney Patterson won the women's 200 yard freestyle and led Lehigh in three events as the Mountain Hawks wrapped-up action at the Big Al Invite Saturday at Princeton's DeNunzio Pool. Patterson won the 200 free in Saturday's morning session and followed up with a second place finish in the 1650 free and a ninth place finish in the 200 fly in Saturday's evening session.
Patterson posted a time of 1:51.92 in the 200 free and a time of 17:34.78 in the mile.
Senior Emily DiDonato led Lehigh in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.75, while sophomore Kim Weyand placed third in the 200 breast with a time of 2:27.00. Sophomore Mary Samuels posted a time of 55.66 seconds to lead Lehigh in the 100 free.
Lehigh's relay teams finished sixth in the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay in the morning and eighth in the 400 free relay during the evening session. Leung, DiDonato and Samuels teamed with junior Stephanie Yaszemski in the 200 medley relay, while Patterson and Weyand swam with freshmen Melissa Feeney and Courtney Desh in the 800 free relay. The Mountain Hawks' 400 free relay team consisted of Yaszemski and Desh along with freshman Abigail Pires and senior Katie Brinkhoff.

The Mountain Hawks will return to the pool Friday when they visit rival Lafayette at 6 p.m. at Ruef Natatorium in Easton, Pa.
