BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh forwards Kim Eng and Lindsay Metzger have garnered All-Patriot League laurels, as announced on Thursday. Eng earned a spot on the First Team for the third time in her career while Metzger captured Second Team honors. Both among the league leaders in goals and points, Eng finished 2012 with 22 points (eight goals, six assists) while Metzger posted 17 (eight goals, one assist). The duo combined for more than half of Lehigh's goals on the season.

Eng led the Mountain Hawks in points (22) and assists (6), while her eight goals tied for the team lead (with Metzger). The senior is tied for fifth in the Patriot League in both goals and points, and her assist total is good for seventh. Eng wrapped up her decorated career with 93 points (36 goals, 21 assists) in starting all 69-career games. She was named NFHCA Second Team All-Mideast Region as a freshman and garnered All-Patriot League Tournament Team laurels as a junior.
Eng's highlight game this season came vs. Monmouth she scored both Lehigh goals for a huge 2-1 win, the Mountain Hawks' first win over the Hawks since 2005. She also scored against Ball State, Penn, Saint Francis (Pa.), Towson, Georgetown and Colgate.

Metzger emerged this season as a big scoring threat, highlighted by her first-career hat trick (and multi-goal game) during a 6-3 win over Towson. That earned her Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week laurels. She finished the season second on the team with 17 points. Metzger also scored at Penn, Fairfield, Georgetown, against Holy Cross and at Bucknell.

Despite falling short of the Patriot League Tournament, the 2012 Lehigh field hockey team did have its highlights. The Mountain Hawks beat a CAA team for the first time since 2006 while scoring their most goals since 2004 in that contest. Lehigh also topped perennial NEC power Monmouth for the first time since 2005. A young squad returns 22-of-28 players in 2013.
