BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh Valley has been one of the areas in Pennsylvania hardest hit by the effects of Hurricane Sandy. The following is an update from Lehigh Athletics on the status of its scheduled competitions (both home and away) for this week and weekend.

Tickets already purchased will be automatically refunded to the credit card on file in your account.  If you purchased tickets with cash, please visit the Stabler Arena Box Office to collect your refund. The Mountain Hawks will open the dual season on Thursday, September 8 when they host Binghamton inside Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall at 7 p.m.

Volleyball (Updated Thursday afternoon) – Due to storm-related facility and power issues on Lafayette's campus, Lehigh will host doubleheaders Friday and Saturday inside Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall. On Friday, Lehigh will host American at 5 p.m., while Lafayette will meet Navy at 8 p.m. On Saturday, Lehigh will battle Navy at 1 p.m. and Lafayette will face American at 4 p.m. Live video and live stats for both Lehigh matches will still be available at Lehighsports.com.

Women's Soccer – No. 4 seed Lehigh will meet top-seed Navy in a Patriot League semifinal Friday at 7 p.m. at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in Annapolis, Md. The Patriot League tournament, hosted by Navy, is currently scheduled to take place as scheduled. Should Lehigh advance, the championship game is set for 2 p.m. Sunday.

Football – Fresh off their bye week the Mountain Hawks will head to Worcester, Mass. to face Holy Cross on Saturday. Kickoff is still set for just after 12:30 p.m.

Swimming and Diving (Updated Thursday Afternoon) – The Mountain Hawks were scheduled to compete at Rider, Saturday at 1 p.m. but that meet has been postponed due to facility damage on the Rider Campus. A make-up date has not yet been announced. Lehigh will return to action at the Princeton Invitational November 9-10 in New Jersey.

Men's Soccer – Lehigh will wrap-up its regular season and potentially secure a postseason berth when the Mountain Hawks play at Army Saturday night. The game is set for a 7:30 p.m. start and is currently on as scheduled.

Lehigh Athletics will continue to provide updates with any changes that may arise to currently scheduled competitions.

Any family, friends or fans traveling to Lehigh competitions this weekend, both home and away, are encouraged to check road status with state or local highway services before departing. The damage done by Hurricane Sandy has forced numerous road closures and route changes throughout the northeast.
