HAMILTON, N.Y. – Despite a valiant effort, the Lehigh women's swimming and diving team dropped its first Patriot League meet to Colgate 79-32 Saturday at Lineberry Natatorium. The Mountain Hawks hung tough against the perennial league championship contending Raiders, and a strong Yale squad that also competed in the meet as an exhibition.
Another freshman, Carolyn Koch, also had a strong day, finishing third overall in the 50 free and placing second in the 100 free with a time of 53.63 seconds.
“It was a valiant performance by the women in a losing effort,” said Lehigh head coach Rob Herb. “Cady Zawatson was a double winner again to lead the way. We had some very strong swims overall against a Patriot League Championship contender.”
