BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a stellar sophomore campaign, Lehigh field hockey goalkeeper Sierra Segear has earned a spot on the NFHCA All-Mideast Region Second Team, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Thursday. Segear was a standout performer all season, earning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year honors after leading the league with 202 saves and a .774 save percentage.

Lehigh was one of only three Patriot League teams to place a member on an All-Region Team, along with American and Lafayette. Segear is the first Mountain Hawk honored by the NFHCA since junior Kim Eng earned Second Team All-Region honors in 2009.

After missing the first two games of the season, Segear went on to start the final 17, eclipsing double-digit saves on 12 occasions. She was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week three times. The first came after 14 stops during Lehigh's thrilling 4-3 overtime win over La Salle. Segear then earned her second award after combining for 33 saves in games at American and home vs. Rider.
Segear's best performance came on Oct. 15 against Bucknell when she made 15 saves to shut-out the eventual Patriot League Finalist Bison. That win helped Lehigh go 3-2 in Patriot League play for the first time since 2007.

The Mountain Hawks finished the season winners of four of their final seven games.
