Hall earns second straight Cousy nomination

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second consecutive season Marquis Hall is a nominee for the Bob Cousy Award, it was announced on Wednesday. The Cousy Award is given annually to the top collegiate male point guard spanning across all divisions by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The selection criteria emphasize leadership, team work, success and fundamentals as being critical parts for the game of basketball as a point guard. Nominations are solicited from across the country from head coaches and the winner is selected by a Blue Ribbon Selection Committee made up of the biggest names in college basketball. The 20 finalists for the award will be announced on January 5.
Hall has started all eight games for the Mountain Hawks this season and is currently second on the team in scoring average at 9.9 points per game. The Oregon native ranks sixth nationally in assists, averaging 6.4 per contest and he is also averaging 3.3 rebounds per game. One of four captains for the Brown and White this season Hall has scored in double figures four times, with a season best of 19 at Columbia, and he has totaled 10 assists in three separate games. For his career Hall has scored 1,230 points and handed out 430 assists which is currently second in school history and only 23 off the all-time mark.
Hall and his Lehigh teammates return to the court on Thursday, December 17 when the Mountain Hawks play host to Dartmouth at Stabler Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:05 and tickets may be purchased at the arena box office prior to tip-off.
