Second straight Patriot League honor for McCollum

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second consecutive week freshman C.J. McCollum has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday. McCollum averaged 17.5 points and 2.0 assists in a pair of games for Lehigh last week and currently leads the Brown and White in scoring.
McCollum opened last week with a 15-point, three assist performance in Lehigh’s win over Monmouth on November 23. The Ohio native sank six-of-13 shots, including two three pointers, and also pulled down one rebound and recorded one steal. McCollum then netted a game-high 20 points in Lehigh’s first road win of the season, a 76-67 triumph at St. Francis (Pa.). McCollum was a perfect ten-of-ten at the foul line versus the Red Flash and totaled two boards and one assist.
For the season, McCollum leads Lehigh in scoring at 16.4 points per game and he also paces the squad in field goal attempts, three-point field goal attempts, made three-pointers, made field goals and made free throws. He is shooting 46% from the field, 42% from three-point range and is the team leader in minutes played. In his three starts McCollum is averaging 19.0 points per game.
McCollum and the Mountain Hawks return to action on Monday evening when they play their first of three games this week versus the visiting Stony Brook Seawolves at Stabler Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:05 and tickets can be purchased at the arena box office prior to tip-off.
