BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh opens up a three game home stand by welcoming the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights to the Ulrich Sports Complex on Friday evening. This weekend the Mountain Hawks will host a pair of matches, which will serve as the final tune-up before Patriot League play begins next weekend. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a 1-0 win at Marist on Sunday, which improved their season record to 3-4-1.

Lately, Lehigh’s games have had a knack for going down to the final minutes, and the win at Marist was no exception. The Mountain Hawks and Red Foxes played 87 scoreless minutes before sophomore Glynn Fitzer scored her first goal of the season, which propelled Lehigh to the victory. Sophomore Lauren Mains made four saves in the contest, including a key second-half stop on a penalty kick, and went on to earn Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week honors, after yielding just one goal in over 185 minutes against Monmouth and Marist.

Fairleigh Dickinson enters Friday’s game at 2-5 overall, with the Knights looking to snap a four match slide. The Knights dropped their only game last week to Canisius by a 1-0 score. Freshman Rashidah Sherman has led the way for Fairleigh Dickinson, with five goals in seven matches. Junior Jennifer Arceneaux has been the top play maker, with six assists for the Knights. Rachel Derrico and Megan McKellar have split time in net for FDU, which owns wins over Saint Peter’s and Drexel this season.

Friday’s game marks just the second-ever meeting between Lehigh and Fairleigh Dickinson in women’s soccer. The Mountain Hawks won the previous meeting 1-0 at a Seton Hall tournament in 2002.

Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. from the Ulrich Sports Complex.  The match can be seen online at Lehighsports.com with streaming powered by Yahoo! Sports College Broadcast.
