BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh looks to string together consecutive wins for the first time this season as the Mountain Hawks welcome the Red Flash of Saint Francis to the Ulrich Sports Complex Wednesday night for a midweek non-league clash. The Mountain Hawks bounced back from a tough home loss to Princeton last Wednesday with their most impressive performance of the season in a 4-1 win over Georgetown Friday night in College Park, Maryland.

Junior Kelly Fox led the way for the Mountain Hawks, scoring the first three goals of the game against the Hoyas for her first career hat-trick. Behind Fox’s offensive outburst Lehigh opened up a 3-0 lead and cruised to its third victory of the season. Fox currently leads the Patriot League with five goals and is tied for the league lead with ten points. She recorded the first Lehigh hat-trick since Kalynn Davies netted three last September against Georgetown and has scored a goal in each of Lehigh’s last three games. Sophomore Lilia Stefaniwsky made her first career start in the goal cage on Friday and made eight saves to earn the victory. Stefaniwsky was honored on Monday as the Patriot League’s Goalkeeper of the Week.

Saint Francis comes into Wednesday’s game at 1-4 on the season. The Red Flash played twice over the weekend, picking up its first win of the year 5-2 over Bryant on Friday, before falling 3-0 at home to Radford on Sunday. Senior Belen Albanes leads Saint Francis with three goals and six points. Erin Reifsteck has played every minute of every game in the goal cage and holds a 5.91 goals-against average. The Red Flash, which was 4-13 a year ago, has been outscored 23-5 through five games this season.

Wednesday’s game is just the second ever meeting between the two schools in field hockey. Lehigh won the first meeting 3-1 last year in Loretto, behind goals from Fox, Davies and Kara Zweizig.

Game time is set for 7 p.m. from the Ulrich Sports Complex. The game will be broadcast online at Lehighsports.com with streaming powered by Yahoo! Sports College Broadcast.
