Lehigh snaps two game losing streak

Navy jumped out to an early 7-2 lead to start the first half. The Mountain Hawks responded with 19 straight points, to take a commanding 21-7 lead, with 5:46 to play. Erica Prosser started the run with lay-up, while Alex Ross contributed with a pair of three-pointers.
The Mountain Hawks outscored the Midshipmen 9-6 over the final five minutes, as they entered halftime with a comfortable 30-13 lead. Smith led all players with 10 points, and Ross added another eight, shooting two-of-three from downtown.
Lehigh had seven steals in the half, forcing a total of 16 turnovers, converting those into 13 points. Of the eight players to play for Lehigh in the first half, seven recorded one steal. The Brown and White hit 39.3 percent of its shots, while holding Navy to 26.3 percent shooting form the field, and just one-of-five from three-point range.
The Midshipmen found their shooting range in the second half, connecting on 55.6 percent of their shots, while Lehigh hit 33.3 percent of its shots. Whitney Davidson sparked Navy’s second half comeback, scoring all 11 of her points in the second half, hitting five-of-seven field goals.
Trailing by two points, with 11 seconds left, Angela Myers stole the ball from Smith and it looked as if Navy was going to tie the game. However, Kalen Kropa immediately turned the ball putting an end to the threat. Smith and Haly Crites each hit free throws with less than 10 seconds on the clock to seal the victory.
Crites ended with a team high three steals, as Lehigh had 12 total steals in the game, forcing 27 turnovers by the Midshipmen. Prosser chipped in with 10 points, and Ross added another 12.
