BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a week in which it went a perfect 3-0, including a road win over Big East foe Rutgers, Lehigh cracked the College Insider Mid-Major Top-25 poll on December 1. The Mountain Hawks are currently ranked 16th in the poll, which is voted on by college coaches at Mid-Major schools from around the country. The poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit League, Sun Belt, West Coast.
This is Lehigh’s first-ever ranking in the Mid-Major poll, and comes at a time when the Mountain Hawks are off to their first 5-2 start since the 1994-95 season. Gonzaga checked in at number-one in the poll, followed by Davidson, St. Mary’s, Illinois State and Butler.
Lehigh returns to action on Friday evening when the Mountain Hawks travel to New York to take on the Stony Brook Seawolves.
