In addition to the 13 matches that can be heard on the radio, at least three more matches can be heard exclusively on-line as part of the Yahoo! Sports College Broadcast package. An industry leader in on-line broadcasts, Lehigh Athletics will stream well over 200 events on its web site in 2008-09.
For the fifth straight season, the broadcast team of Steve Lomangino and Gary Brownell ’72 will call the action on the radio. 2 Sports’ Doug Heater and Kyle Berger will team up on the televised broadcasts.
“We are excited to once again bring extensive coverage of Lehigh wrestling to our passionate fans and alumni this season,” said Jeff Tourial, Lehigh’s Director of Broadcast & Multimedia. “Our radio and television partners have been extremely supportive in helping us deliver one of the most comprehensive wrestling broadcast packages of any school in the country. It is only appropriate that our fans will have unprecedented access to this special season via our broadcast partners and our web site.”
Three Lehigh wrestling matches will also air nationally on Fox College Sports. Available in over 56 million homes on cable systems around the country, FCS has partnered with Lehigh for the last five years to air a variety of content, including Lehigh wrestling.
Parents, fans, and alumni around the world can tune in to the live action of a variety of Lehigh sporting events via Lehighsports.com. By subscribing to the Yahoo! Sports College Broadcast package, fans will have access to over 200 Lehigh sporting events, programs, and special features. The package also includes access to the Lehigh Sports Magazine TV show throughout the fall, as well as special wrestling events and exclusive content.
All broadcasts on-line are aired live, and are available on-demand for enjoyment at any time. A nominal monthly subscription fee of $4.95 is required to access the package.
The 2008-09 Lehigh wrestling broadcast schedule gets underway on Sunday afternoon, when Lehighsports.com presents live exclusive coverage of the annual wrestle-offs at 1 p.m. with Steve Lomangino, Gary Brownell ’72, and Lehigh wrestling historian Denny Diehl ’70. That broadcast will feature live video for the third straight year.
