BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh freshman Jessica Miller has been named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday. Miller totaled 19 saves in two games last week for the Mountain Hawks, who knocked off La Salle 3-1 on Friday, before dropping a hard-fought contest to Villanova on Sunday.

Miller shook off an early goal to finish with seven saves in the win at La Salle. Against Villanova, the Lititz, Pennsylvania native tied a career high with 12 saves and helped Lehigh hang tough against a Villanova team that received votes in the national poll. The Mountain Hawks were tied with Villanova with less than 20 minutes to play, before falling 5-2.

For the season, Miller has played all but 14 minutes in Lehigh’s nine games, and is 4-5 with a 2.48 goals against average. Miller leads the Patriot League in saves (68), saves per game (7.56), and is tied for the league lead in save percentage (.756).

The Mountain Hawks (4-5) will return to action on Saturday night when they open up Patriot League play at home against Bucknell. Game time is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast online at Lehighsports.com with streaming powered by Yahoo! Sports.
