Montalvo found the ideal time to score her first goal of the season, tapping home a centering pass in the 95th minute to give Lehigh a 2-1 overtime win over Big Ten member
Pawlewicz, the 2005 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, led the charge for a Mountain Hawk defense that allowed just one goal in two games this past weekend. Against Marist, Pawlewicz helped keep the Red Foxes off the scoreboard, for Lehigh’s second shutout win of the season. She also assisted on the game’s lone goal as her well taken free kick found the head of senior Jen Fetsick.
On Sunday, the Mountain Hawks gave up a 13th minute goal to the high-powered Michigan State attack, but Pawlewicz helped keep the Spartans off the scoreboard in the final 82 minutes, to allow Lehigh the chance to win the game in overtime, and deliver head coach Manny Oudin his 50th career win as Lehigh head coach.
The Mountain Hawks will return to the pitch on Friday, when another tough test awaits. Villanova, a 2006 NCAA tournament participant and the current No. 25 team in the country according to the NSCAA poll, will visit the Ulrich Sports Complex for a match that begins at 5:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast online at Lehighsports.com with streaming video powered by Yahoo! Sports.
