Lehigh finishes fouth; Suarez garners major award

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh finished up competition at the 2007 Patriot League Championships on Sunday as the Mountain Hawks placed fourth among the league’s seven teams with a final score of 890.  Lehigh shot a 295 on Sunday led by the 2007 Patriot League co-Rookie of the Year Steve Suarez, and Matt Denison who both shot a 73 on the day.  Suarez and Denison both collected First-Team All-League Honors with their performances.  Suarez tied for fourth as he shot a 220 for the three-round tournament with rounds of 75, 72 and 73.  Bucknell was the team champion with a score of 883, while Holy Cross’ Matt Czarnecki won the individual crown with a score of 212.

 

Other Mountain Hawk finishers included Denison, who came in a tie for tenth place with a three-round total of 225 (77, 75, 73), Will Robinson who tied for twelfth place (72, 79, 75 – 226), Alan Borowksky who shot a 231 (78, 77, 76), and came in 27th place, Shane Gilroy also in 27th place (85, 72, 74) and Eric Feather who tied for 32nd place with a score of 233 (75, 78, 80).

 

Behind Bucknell, Navy finished second with a score of 886, followed by Army (888), the Mountain Hawks, Colgate (908), Lafayette (913), and Holy Cross (913).
