Lehigh blanked by Penn State on Sunday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – After having Saturday’s scheduled match postponed due to foul weather, Lehigh returned to the court on Sunday and suffered a 7-0 loss to Penn State at the Penn State Indoor Tennis Center. The Nittany Lions swept all three doubles matches and six singles matches to improve to 7-6 on the season, while dropping the Brown and White to 5-7.

 

Penn State started strong, losing just two games in sweeping the three doubles matches. In singles play, the Nittany Lions won all six contests in straight sets. For the Mountain Hawks, senior Cessa Murasko-Blank took a team best five games off of Lauren McCarthy at No. 5 singles, losing 6-1, 6-4.

 

The Mountain Hawks will return to the court on Wednesday when they return home to face Villanova at 2:30 pm at the Lewis Tennis Center.
