Following a 20-day layoff for final exams and the holidays, Lehigh returns to action on Friday evening as the Mountain Hawks welcome Monmouth to Stabler Arena. Lehigh, which has not played since December 8, downed Harvard its last time out with an impressive second-half comeback that featured 48 points and a decisive 11-0 run down the stretch. Lehigh has won its last two games and will attempt to go above .500 for the first time since mid-November in its final home game of 2007. Monmouth comes into Friday's game following a 62-57 setback to Florida Atlantic on Sunday, the Hawks’ sixth straight loss, three of which were by ten points or less. Monmouth has not won since defeating
In its five wins this season Lehigh has out scored its opponents by a 55-25 margin in second chance points. In their five losses the Mountain Hawks have been out scored 76-51 in this category. Not surprisingly, the rebound margin in Lehigh’s five wins is +4.6 (35.2 to 30.6) while in the five losses that number falls to -6.8 (33.8 to 40.6).
Through ten games, five different players (Buchberger, Carrington, Hall, Keefer, Szalachowski) have led the Mountain Hawks in scoring, compared to last year when only one player (Jose Olivero) led Lehigh in scoring through ten games.
Friday’s tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm from Stabler Arena. Tickets can be purchased at the arena box office prior to tip-off.
