Lehigh goes for two in a row on Wednesday night as the Mountain Hawks welcome Quinnipiac to Stabler Arena for the Bobcats first-ever visit. Lehigh downed NJIT on Monday at home to even its record on the season behind a career-high eight assist performance by sophomore Marquis Hall and a strong showing at the foul line. The Mountain Hawks sank 74 percent from the stripe and hit seven more free throws than NJIT to snap their two-game losing streak. Quinnipiac enters Wednesday’s game looking to end a three-game losing streak which includes a 77-70 setback to
Through six games, ten Mountain Hawks are averaging double-digit minutes, led by Marquis Hall’s 33.6 per game. After six games a season ago, only eight Lehigh players were averaging ten or more minutes per game, led by Jose Olivero, who coincidentally was averaging 33.6 per game.
While Lehigh has had problems guarding the three-point shot, the Mountain Hawks accuracy from deep has improved dramatically from last season. Lehigh is hitting nearly 42 percent of its threes, including 44 percent at home, compared to last year when the Brown and White hit only 35 percent from beyond the arc, and just 34 percent at home.
Wednesday’s tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm from Stabler Arena. Tickets are available at the arena box office prior to tip-off.
