BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second time in as many weeks, freshman Rob Keefer was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday. Keefer averaged seven points, 3.5 rebounds and one assist last week for Lehigh in games at Albany and Maryland. The 6-3 guard leads all Patriot League freshmen in scoring this season, averaging 8.2 points per contest.
On November 21 at Albany, Keefer scored two points, pulled down one rebound and recorded one steal in 17 minutes of action versus the Great Danes. He then backed that up with a 12-point, six rebound, two assist performance versus the Terrapins on November 23. The 12 points and six rebounds are both career-highs for Keefer.
For the season, the Pennsylvania native is averaging 8.2 points in 22.8 minutes per game, to go along with 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Keefer leads all Lehigh freshmen in points, minutes and rebounds.
Keefer and the Mountain Hawks downed NJIT on Monday evening to snap their two-game losing streak and pull even at 3-3 on the season. Lehigh will be back in action on Wednesday when the Brown and White plays host to Quinnipiac at Stabler Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for just after 7:00 and tickets can be purchased at the arena box office prior to tip-off.
