PRINCETON, N.J. – The Mountain Hawks could not rebound from a slow start, trailing Princeton for the entire game, losing to the Tigers 61-49 Tuesday night in Princeton, N.J.  Melissa Rich was the leading scorer for Lehigh putting in 10 points and adding six rebounds.  Meagan Cowher led the Tigers with 18 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double.  With the loss Lehigh falls to 1-2 on the season, while the Tigers pick up their first win of the year, improving to 1-4.

For the second straight game Lehigh got off to a sluggish start scoring just eight points in the first 17 minutes, trailing the Tigers 21-8.  The Mountain Hawks found a spark thanks to a pair of three-pointers from Alex Ross with a little over three minutes to play to cut the lead to 23-14.

Lehigh would get another big three-pointer from freshman Erica Prosser with just 40 seconds to play to cut the Princeton lead down to 27-23.  The Tigers added a basket with nine seconds left, to enter halftime leading 29-23.

The teams battled back and forth in the second half, but Lehigh was unable to close the gap by less than six points.

Prosser had another strong outing, putting in 10 points and Kristen Dalton added another nine points off the bench for the Brown and White.

Addie Micir scored 10 points off the bench for the Tigers, who shot .379 for the game, including .214 from behind the three-point line.

Lehigh returns to action on Sunday, when the Mountain Hawks travel to Syracuse, N.Y. for a game with the Orange.  Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. from Manley Field House.  The game can be heard on WLVR-FM 91.3 in the Lehigh Valley and around the world on Lehighsports.com.
