Lehigh opens the home portion of its schedule Wednesday evening as the Mountain Hawks welcome the Peacocks of Saint Peter’s to Stabler Arena in the teams first meeting since 1954. Lehigh fell to Cornell on Saturday 87-83 in
Lehigh’s 83 points on Saturday were its most in a season opener since scoring 91 in the 2001 opener at St. Francis (N.Y.). The Mountain Hawks dropped that game 100-91.
Last season Lehigh struggled to get consistent play out of its bench. Against Cornell that was not the case as the Mountain Hawk reserves combined for 19 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, four steals and a perfect six-of-six showing at the foul line.
The Mountain Hawks have enjoyed playing in the friendly confines of Stabler Arena over the course of the last five seasons. During that time the Brown and White is 52-16 in competitive results at home.
Wednesday’s tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm from Stabler Arena. Tickets can be purchased by calling 610-7LU-GAME, by visiting the Lehigh Athletics Ticket Office located in Grace Hall or by logging onto Lehighsports.com at anytime.
