Mountain Hawks earn pair of weekly PL honors

Smith tied a career-high with five points in Lehigh’s 3-2 overtime triumph at Holy Cross on Saturday. The senior co-captain put Lehigh on the scoreboard in the 44th minute and assisted on the Mountain Hawks second goal, which put Lehigh up 2-0. Smith won the game with an unassisted goal five minutes into overtime, her second overtime game-winner this season. Earlier in the week, Smith assisted on Kalynn Davies’ game tying goal as the Mountain Hawks erased a 2-0 halftime deficit to defeat Rider 4-2.
On the season, Smith ranks third on the Mountain Hawks in scoring with six goals and four assists. She has scored the game-winner in overtime in both of Lehigh’s Patriot League wins. The two-goal effort was the third of her career, and the five points matched a career-high established last season versus American.
Miller earned her second Rookie of the Week honor, totaling 12 saves while helping lead Lehigh to a pair of victories. She made eight saves against Rider, keeping the Broncs off the scoreboard over the last 55 minutes of the play, while Lehigh rallied to erase a 2-0 deficit. Miller added four saves in the win over Holy Cross and finished the week with a .750 save percentage and 1.93 goals against average in two games.
