WASHINGTON – The Mountain Hawks were handed their third straight conference loss Saturday at the hands of American.  Lehigh lost in three games, with scores of 30-23, 30-19 and 30-22.  Brittany Thurston had a team high 12 kills and hit .280 for the match to lead the Brown and White on offense.  Mo McReynolds had a team high eight digs and added five kills to contribute to the Lehigh attack.

American was led on offense by three players in double digit kills.  Cassandra Ricketts had 12 kills and 10 digs to record the double-double and hit a match high .647, while Rubena Sukaj was equally as impressive recording 20 kills, five service aces and hitting .625 on the match.  Chelsa Brooks added another 10 kills and three blocks to round the Eagles attack.

The Mountain Hawks had one of their better hitting matches of the year; hitting .308 in the first game and .391 in the second game, but the Eagles were just too powerful as they hit .462 for the match, including .588 in the second game.

Lehigh falls to 4-14 (1-6) on the year while American maintains its one game lead over Colgate for first place in the Patriot League, with a 15-6 (7-0) record.

The Mountain Hawks return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Fairleigh Dickinson for their final non-conference game of the season.  The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. from Teaneck, N.J.
