Mountain Hawks fall 3-0 to Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Lehigh lost to Navy 3-0 Friday night in Annapolis, Md. in Patriot League action.  The game scores were 30-17, 30-22 and 30-25.  The Mountain Hawks are now 4-13 (1-5) on the season while Navy improves its record to 14-8 (3-3) for the year.

 

Shannon Spafford once again led the Mountain Hawks on offense with six kills and also had a team high five blocks.  Haley Conklin led the team with 11 digs while Brittany Dickinson had a team high 15 assists. 

 

Rachel Dougherty led the Midshipmen on offense, recording a match high 17 kills.  Alexa Gibbs recorded 13 kills and hit a match high .429.  Marissa Watson led Navy with 34 assists, while Aimee Burns had a match high 13 digs.

 

As a team the Mids hit .294 for the match including .344 in the first game and .384 in the second game.  The Brown and White hit .083 for the match and hit a team best .189 in the second game.

 

Head coach Jenny Maurer said one of the positive outcomes of this match was that the team recorded a match high nine service aces, led by Mo McReynolds and Lindsay Brown, who each had three.

 

Lehigh will be back in action tomorrow at 4 p.m. when they travel to Washington D.C. to take the Patriot League leading American Eagles.
