Pawlewicz receives honorable mention from PL

Pawlewicz played a key role in shutting down a Monmouth attack that came into Saturday’s game averaging over three goals per contest. With assistance from her fellow defenders: senior Meghan Duesing, sophomores Hailey Coonrad and Emily Means and freshman Alex Warren; Pawlewicz helped limit the Hawks to 12 shots, only five of which were on target.
Sophomore goalkeeper Julie Kafka was the beneficiary of the stellar defensive play, as she made five saves for her second shutout of the season.
The 2005 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and a two-time all-league selection, Pawlewicz has started in central defense for 22 shutouts in her two-plus seasons in the Brown and White. She is the third Lehigh women’s soccer player to be honored by the Patriot League this season. Senior Daniela Molina was the league’s Offensive Player of the Week in the first week of the season, and earned an honorable mention last week. Freshman Natalie Hojnacki was last week’s Rookie of the Week.
