Mountain Hawks win first game, ultimately fall

“It was a good match,” said head coach Amanda Moran. “We came out strong in the first game. In the second and third games, we dug ourselves a hole and had to come from behind. The last game was essentially point-for-point, and then we lost a couple of points on some service errors.”
Senior Michelle Schwendenmann had a team-high 11 kills en route to a .786 hitting percentage. Senior Cassidy Maumus had a team-high 26 digs. Both freshmen Sarah Wolfe and Brittany Thurston each recorded nine kills. Wolfe also had an impressive .438 hitting percentage while Thurston had 14 defensive digs. Thurston ended the tournament on a high note by being named to the all-tournament team.
