BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With the fall season just a week away, Lehigh Athletics has announced its 2006 fall television and Internet broadcast schedule. Several men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, and volleyball games will be broadcast live on the Lehigh web site as part of the Yahoo! Sports College Broadcast package. An industry leader in on-line broadcasts, Lehigh Athletics will make available nearly 200 events on its web site in 2006-07.

Thanks to overwhelmingly positive feedback, virtually every broadcast will again feature live streaming video in addition to play-by-play audio at no additional charge. Lehigh has also teamed up with the Lehigh Valley’s largest cable television provider – Service Electric – to televise a number of home games this fall on its award-winning 2 Sports outlet. The broadcast team of Steve Lomangino, Jeff Tourial, and Robbie Aaron ’09 will call most of the action, with 2 Sports’ Doug Heater and Mike Krause teaming on the televised volleyball broadcasts.

Parents, fans, and alumni around the world can tune in to the live action of a variety of Lehigh sporting events via Lehighsports.com. By subscribing to the Yahoo! Sports College Broadcast package, fans will have access to nearly 200 Lehigh sporting events. The package also includes the Lehigh Sports Magazine – Lehigh’s weekly television show featuring highlights and interviews from coaches and student-athletes from all of the aforementioned sports. The Lehigh Sports Magazine premieres on Monday, August 28 in the Lehigh Valley on WFMZ-TV, and on Tuesday on FSN Pittsburgh (DirecTV channel 628, DISH Network channel 428), FCS Atlantic (available in over 56 million homes on digital cable), and Lehighsports.com. CSTV: College Sports Television (DirecTV channel 610, DISH Network channel 152), will air the LSM each Friday morning.

All broadcasts on-line are aired live, and are available on-demand for enjoyment at any time. A nominal monthly subscription fee of $4.95 is required to access the package.

The 2006-07 Lehigh broadcast schedule gets underway on Friday, August 25, when the women’s soccer team takes on Marist. Action gets underway at 7:00 pm.
