BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The official start of summer in the Lehigh Valley also signifies the start of summer camp season at Lehigh. The first of three straight weeks of Lehigh wrestling camps began on Sunday and runs through Thursday afternoon. Boys from ages 8-18 are taking part in the technique camp, led by Lehigh wrestling coach Greg Strobel and members of the five-time defending EIWA Champion Mountain Hawks.

Campers are enjoying expert instruction from Lehigh coaches and wrestlers inside Taylor Gym as well as venerable Grace Hall. Campers also enjoy guest lecturers, many former area or Lehigh wrestlers and coaches, who speak on a variety of topics. Aside from the normal instruction and combat, campers also have time for other recreational activities including swimming.

This week’s technique camp runs through Thursday, June 22. A second week of technique camp will run from July 5-9. Next week’s camp is a “team duals” and is open high school and junior high teams. That camp features 70% combat matches and 30% instruction and runs from June 25-29.
