Mountain Hawks close out season at regional meet

Leading the Mountain Hawk women was sophomore Shannon Alejandro, who ran a career-best 21:56.2 and finished 42nd out of 195 runners. The pack of Patriot League Rookie of the Year Kaitlin Grimm and seniors Carolyn House and Sarah Seiler followed as Grimm finished the 6K course in a time of 22:57.4 (107th), House ran a 23:01.1 (109th) and Seiler ran a 23:03.4 (110th). Rounding out the scoring for the Mountain Hawk women was freshman Nicole Page (23:12.8, 117th) and sophomore Katie McClernand (24:09.1, 157th).
Senior Victor Vientos was the only Mountain Hawk to place in the top 25 in the men’s race. Vientos finished 24th as he completed the 10K course in a time of 31:10.0. Classmate Sean Swift was the second Lehigh runner to cross the finish line as he placed 57th (32:19.7), while junior Joe Kelly placed 79th (32:46.2). Also competing for the Mountain Hawks was sophomore Jonathan Wetzel (32:54.8, 90th), seniors Brendan Glover (33:02.2, 94th) and Steve Rosinski (33:16.2, 107th) and sophomore Dan DeWitt (34:00.4, 134th).
During the 2006 season, Lehigh competed in seven races, three of which it hosted. Both the men’s and women’s teams won the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Cross Country Championships as well as defeated archrival
