BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh senior midfielder Gina Lewandowski has been named the Patriot League’s Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Lewandowski netted two game-winning goals and an assist in three games last week, as the Mountain Hawks won a pair of critical home league games to begin the Patriot League season 3-0 for the second straight year.

In the Mountain Hawks’ 3-1 win over Colgate on Friday, Lewandowski earned her first assist of the season as she set up senior Lauren Calabrese for the first goal of the game. Right before halftime, the Coopersburg native redirected a Hailey Coonrad corner kick to give Lehigh the lead for good.

Sunday against Bucknell Lewandowski scored the only goal of the game on a hard, low shot from the top of the 18-yard box.  After being limited by injuries early in the season, Lewandowski has now scored in all three of Lehigh’s Patriot League contests and leads the league in both goals and points in league games.

Lewandowski’s three goals this season give her 36 for her career, which places her one behind Lehigh Penske Hall of Famer Dia Johnson Smith ’96 for the Lehigh career scoring record. With all three of her goals being game-winners, Lewandowski has extended her own school record to 15 game winning goals.

The Mountain Hawks (7-6 overall) are tied atop the league standings with Navy with each team holding 3-0 league records.

Lewandowski and her Lehigh teammates kick off a tough three game league road trip when the Mountain Hawks travel to Army on Saturday afternoon. Game time is set for 1:00 from Clinton Field at West Point, N.Y.
