Lehigh honored for wrestling marketing efforts

Lake Buena Vista, FL – Lehigh University Athletics has been honored for two of its marketing endeavors from an extremely successful 2004-05 season.  The Lehigh wrestling season ticket brochure and the men’s basketball season ticket television commercial have both been recognized by the National Association of College Marketing Administrators (NACMA).  The wrestling brochure was the winner of best ticket sales piece in Group III.  The basketball advertisement finished third in the television commercial category.

 

The awards were handed out on Wednesday at the annual NACMA convention, being held on the grounds of the Walt Disney World Resort outside Orlando.

 

Both the brochure and the television spot were created by the marketing and promotions, ticketing area, and media relations staffs in the Lehigh Athletics department.  That group, headed by Lehigh Associate Athletics Director Glenn Hofmann, helps comprise the External Relations area.  Others who worked closely on the creation of the pieces include Rich Haas, Nick Lofaro, Mike Stagnitta, and Jeff Tourial. 

 

The “2004-05 Lehigh Wrestling: Pure Pride” season ticket brochure was designed by SportProductions, based in Kansas.  The “Believe” basketball television spot was produced by MBC Teleproductions in Allentown, Pa.

 

Both campaigns helped drive home attendance in 2004-05.  The Mountain Hawks wrestling team sold out 5 of 7 home matches, while ranking third nationally in average home attendance.  Meanwhile, the basketball team played in front of its largest average home crowd in 14 seasons.
