BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh’s match at Army, originally scheduled for Sunday, February 12 at 5:00 pm has been pushed back to 7:30 pm on the same date to accommodate a national television broadcast. The dual between the Mountain Hawks and Black Knights from Christl Arena in West Point will now be televised nationally on ESPNU, ESPN’s 24-hour college sports network.

The Mountain Hawks (5-2-1 in duals) jumped up a spot to ninth in the latest USA Today/NWCA Coaches Poll from Intermat. This match against an Army team that is undefeated in dual competition (2-0-1) and currently receiving votes in the latest poll, will be Lehigh’s first dual televised on ESPNU. The ESPN family of networks televised portions of last year’s NCAA Championships and will be doing so again at the 2006 tournament at Ford Center in Oklahoma City.

The Black Knights are one of Lehigh’s oldest rivals, as the teams have met 61 times in a series that dates back to 1922. The Mountain Hawks hold a 50-8-3 edge in the series and have won the last 12 meetings between the schools. Lehigh has only wrestled four schools more often: Penn State (93 times), Navy (85), Cornell (84) and Syracuse (68).

Lehigh has won the last four EIWA team championships and the Brown and White have won 23 straight duals against EIWA foes.

The Mountain Hawks are currently in the midst of final exams, but will return to the mat on Thursday, December 29 when they head to Greensboro, N.C. for the third annual Southern Scuffle, a two-day tournament hosted by UNC-Greensboro at the Greensboro Coliseum.
