BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second time this season, senior tri-captain Meghan Gove has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week. Gove helped lead the Mountain Hawks to a 1-0 shut out of archrival Lafayette on Friday evening in Easton, recording seven saves along the way en route to her second shut out of the season. Earlier this year, Gove also received this honor, after posting a career-high 18 saves in a shut out of Brown.
Gove currently leads the Patriot League in saves with 117, and also is the leader in shut outs with two. For the year, the Maine native has registered six games of double digit saves, having played all 857 minutes in goal for Lehigh. Both of Gove’s shut outs have come away from home this season.
Gove and the Mountain Hawks return to action on Saturday afternoon, when they travel to take on Holy Cross in a battle of undefeated Patriot League teams. Game time is set for 12:00 in Worcester, Mass.
